Projects Overview

Corporate Social Investment: Several Corporations have contributed time and finance in order to assist in revamping the NICUs already targeted by the Baby Ethan Foundation.

Baby Ethan Empowerment Project: January 2014 will see the launch of the "Nu Nu Blanket Empowerment Project" for the parents/legal guardians at the NICU Kangaroo Mother Care Unit" of the Rahima Moosa Mother & Child Hospital.

Baby Ethan "Mommy Bag": A PnP "goodie bag" containing a variety of items is given to the mother/legal guardian (free of charge) upon discharge from hospital.

2013

Edenvale Hospital

In Celebration of Mandela day 2013, the ICU wards and KMC wards at Edenvale Hospital were refurbished.

The following was achieved:
  • Murals and painting of wards
  • Donation of TV, linen and kitchen utensils
  • Handover of "mommy bags"

2012

Charlotte Maxeke Hospital

The first phase refurbishment comprised of:
  • Painting neo-natal ICU wards
  • Murals outside ward
  • Installation of lockers, medicine cabinets and new front desk
  • Smaller items donated included pin boards, microwave, kettle, coffee tables and magazine racks
The second phase refurbishment was in the Kangaroo Mother Care Unit which comprised of:
  • Painting of rooms and murals
  • 20 Lazy boy chairs
  • Handover of "mommy bags"

2011

Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital (previously Coronation Hospital)

The refurbishment comprised of:
  • Painting of the ward and cut out murals
  • Curtaining, bedding, side tables, lamps and magazine racks in rooms for moms
  • Upgrade of nurses and doctors kitchen
  • Donation of lazy boy chairs and TV in mother's communal area
